Kendra Morales has completed over 400 executive searches for venture-backed technology companies in her 23 years of executive search experience. At Candidate Labs, she oversees our client services organization.
Kendra launched her career at Hobson Associates in 1999 where she was Rookie of the Year and the youngest person ever promoted to Partner and then Senior Partner. She later joined The Millard Group where she was promoted to Associate Partner 15 months after joining and broke her own record six times for the largest fee closed in company history.
Most recently, Kendra came to Candidate Labs from Betts Recruiting, where she was hired to build out continuous training and development programs, create segment playbooks, and facilitating the overall Betts go-to-market strategy.
Kendra actively serves her community and, in 2013, founded a 501(c)3 non-profit organization For Goodness Sake which is a furniture bank in Central CT that has helped over 2,500 families coming out of homelessness/crisis get back on their feet. She also teaches yoga and meditation at a local prison.

Liam Naughton is an experienced search professional who has completed C-level and VP searches for some of the highest profile companies in the technology world today. He has worked across a variety of functions with expertise in sales, marketing, technology, and finance. He joined Candidate Labs in October of 2020 to continue to expand their executive search practice while providing top notch service to their prestigious clients.
Before joining Candidate Labs, Liam spent several years with top tier boutique search firm Daversa Partners. While at Daversa, Liam completed C-level and VP searches for public and private companies in the technology space, and quickly rose through the ranks to senior associate. Based in the New York and Connecticut offices, Liam’s work expanded across the country with placements based in LA, SF, NYC, Boston, and other geographies.
Liam is based in Manhattan and grew up in Darien, Connecticut. While New York is his home today, he finds any and all excuses to go back to Vermont and spend weekends hiking in the Green Mountains. Liam is passionate about youth sports and athletics, and has helped coach multiple YMCA and travel sports organizations. While he played basketball in college, today you’re more likely to find Liam on the golf course rather than the court.

Giles Van Praagh began his career in the early 1990's gaining valuable experience spanning buy-side equity analysis, investment banking, and retained executive search. He focuses on partnering with entrepreneurial management teams across the digital, tech, and tech-enabled ecosystems to augment their C-suites with high impact leaders across functional areas. Particular areas of focus include Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, and Chief Marketing Officer.
Giles has experience working with clients across both enterprise and consumer-facing business models. On the enterprise front, he has experience with SaaS, artificial intelligence, IoT, and professional services. In the consumer arena, Giles has experience in eCommerce (including digital native, direct-to-consumer, and more traditional retail/brand) and marketplaces.
Giles' previous executive search roles include Partner at True Search and VP at StevenDouglas. He brings a thoughtful approach to his client relationships. In order to provide the greatest value in any engagement, he is a firm believer in becoming a student of the company, its leadership team, and its overarching definition of success.

Ryan Lupo brings over 10 years of internal and agency search experience having placed nearly 300 professionals across venture and PE -backed technology companies. Ryan has seen successful early-stage growth team builds firsthand while scaling internal GTM and recruiting orgs on the client side and helping PE/VC backed companies go through the same builds on the agency side. At Candidate Labs, Ryan will continue to partner with high-growth companies to make their major leadership and strategic hires while helping the team scale quickly internally.
Ryan joins Candidate Labs after five years with True Search, where he was promoted from Principal to Partner in under 18 months and focused on key hires across the portfolio companies of firms like Menlo Ventures, Accel, and Insight Partners. During his tenure he placed nearly 150 executives across the consumer and enterprise technology space. Some of his team builds included clients like HelloFresh, Guild Education, and Via-OnDemand Transit.
Earlier in his career, Ryan spent five years in-house overseeing all sales recruiting for the NYC-based healthcare technology company Zocdoc, building and leading teams in their New York and Phoenix offices. During his tenure the company grew from 100 to over 700 employees at its peak.
After nine years of living in NYC, Ryan and his family moved back to their native New Jersey where they enjoy walks in the park with their dog, George, and listening to Bruce Springsteen on the porch with a crisp beer.

Jaycie Moller is an experienced GTM recruiter who has completed key hires for some of the most well known startups in Silicon Valley. She has worked across a variety of functions including Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Operations. Jaycie joined Candidate Labs as one of the first recruiters and first female in the company. As a Client Partner, her focus at Candidate Labs is to help top startups make their critical “first of” hires.
She has completed searches for high-growth startups including SurveyMonkey, Bill.com, Vonage, Lever, ADP, Pilot.com, Rippling, Deel, Airbase, and OneSignal. While Jaycie started her career in technical recruiting, she quickly realized that she was most passionate about the GTM side of the business. Before Candidate Labs, Jaycie spent 3 years at TheLions, a boutique GTM recruiting firm in San Francisco. There, Jaycie quickly became the #1 producer, was promoted to a leadership role, and completed over 60 searches for both private and post-IPO companies.
Jaycie grew up in Los Angeles and attended the University of San Francisco where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. She was an active member of the Psychology Honors program and spent her senior year researching ADHD in elementary-aged students. Jaycie also worked as a stylist at Stitch Fix during college which was her first taste of the power of a tech-enabled services model - one of the many reasons she was excited about the technology at Candidate Labs. Today, Jaycie lives in San Francisco where you can find her hiking with her GSP (Frankie), figure skating, cooking, and wine tasting in Napa in her free time.
Mike Pirone has early-stage startup experience both as a recruiter, completing GTM searches for VC-backed startups, as well as a leader, where he managed teams of Sales and Tech recruiters. At Candidate Labs, he oversees our team of Talent Managers and Talent Directors.
Prior to joining Candidate Labs, Mike spent 3 years at CloserIQ, an early-stage tech-enabled recruiting agency. He began as a recruiter working with GTM sales candidates for VC-backed startups before transitioning into management where he managed teams of Sales and Tech recruiters. As an early hire, he played a pivotal role in helping the company triple in size while also starting and scaling the Tech Recruiting division.
Before diving into the recruiting and startup world, Mike spent 3 years as a consultant at Deloitte, where he worked with US government agencies to help develop and implement new processes and systems across various financial reporting lines of business.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys hiking and snowboarding in the Colorado mountains. Mike also enjoys giving back and has been on multiple international volunteering trips with Habitat for Humanity helping to build houses for people in need.
Rance Bauman has spent the last 13 years in startup operations management and executive search, where he helped complete over 200 searches across various industries. He joins Candidate Labs as a Client Director to bring additional expertise working with high-growth technology companies on their finance and operations as well as go-to-market roles.
Rance started his career working internationally, first with an international development organization in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and later joining BNP Paribas Asset Management in Paris, France. Returning to the United States, he then spent two years with the private equity firm TPG Capital in New York.
Rance joined Russell Reynolds Associates in 2010 and spent five years working as part of the firm’s Health Services and Biotech/Pharma Practices. Most recently, he helped start and grow Guild Talent, a recruiting firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area focused on working with VC-backed startup companies as employee #2 of the firm.
Outside of work, Rance loves basketball and rugby, and can most often be found in the kitchen – experimenting with new recipes or cooking multi-course meals for friends.
Rance graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a degree in English Language and Literature in 2000.
Kemper has over 10 years of agency and in-house recruiting experience. Throughout his career, he has closed over 200 searches across multiple functions including sales, engineering, finance, operations, and legal.
Kemper started his recruiting career in 2012 at Bayside Solutions where he mainly focused on IT, as well as Engineering searches for permanent and contract engagements. He joined Betts Recruiting in 2013 as a Sales Recruiter where in his first year, he was promoted to Director of Sales in the Engineering Recruitment Department, enabling its annual revenue to grow by 184%. In 2015, he relocated to Texas to oversee Betts Recruiting’s Austin office.
Lauren Howard brings to Candidate Labs a unique background of both sales and search experience. As a recruiter, Lauren has completed several key searches for high-growth SaaS startups across a variety of functions including Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, HR and Operations. She has also made early placements for innovative startups including ChartHop, Codility, Airbase, Oomnitza, Conversica, ServiceChannel, Rhumbix and more.
Lauren started her career on the Sales side of the house, working her way up from an SDR role to an Account Executive and, most recently, a Regional Sales Manager. Upon joining Elevate Talent, a boutique recruiting firm based in San Francisco, she realized her sales acumen and “hunter” mentality transferred well to recruiting. While there, she was responsible for Account Management and full-cylce recruiting. She quickly became the highest-grossing recruiter on the team and was able to nearly double their client base through her business development efforts. She also established formal partnerships with GTM organizations such as Women in Revenue to help develop deeper connections across Sales & Marketing leadership. Lauren finds that her time spent in sales within startup environments similar to her clients' has enabled her to be more consultative and understanding of their needs.
Lauren is based in Pleasant Hill, California. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking new recipes, bike rides (or Peloton rides depending on the weather), reading psychology books, and wine tasting.
Emily is a top-performing recruiter with ample experience completing a variety of sales and marketing searches in the technology space. She joins us most recently from Rainier Recruiting, where she was the top-grossing recruiter for three years in a row, maintaining a record she set for highest placement throughout her entire tenure.
Jordan Marshall has completed over 60 searches building out full Marketing departments for high-growth startups including Stitch Fix and Thumbtack so they can achieve their growth goals. Jordan is a Client Director at Candidate Labs where she is helping us build out our B2C Marketing expertise by partnering with founders and executives in a consultative way to help them better set up their marketing departments for success.
Jordan began her career at K1 Capital, an LA-based private equity firm, where she touched all departments and all levels of search and placed a CFO within just a few months of starting. After a year there, she moved to RevelOne, a boutique marketing recruiting firm, as employee number seven and helped build the company to 30+ people. During Jordan’s time at RevelOne, she worked with Mike Duboe at Stitch Fix to hire his entire marketing team during their high-growth period which eventually led to a successful IPO. Along with working with high-growth startups, Jordan has made key strategic placements for seed-rounded companies like Medly and Rothy’s to large organizations like Procter & Gamble and Zappos.
Jordan is an avid traveler and is always on a plane. She’s been to 30+ countries, 6 continents, and has lived abroad multiple times with her last stint living and working throughout South America where she participated in a 4-month digital nomad program called Remote Year.

Alex Massa has over 8 years of recruiting experience in a variety of industries including healthcare, e-commerce, and cannabis, among others. At Candidate Labs, he is a Client Director connecting leaders at VC-backed companies with the most qualified candidates to grow and scale their teams.
Alex launched his recruiting career at Advanced Medical, where he was quickly promoted to a mentor role overseeing teams of new hires, then grew to oversee the Denver office as Director of Sales as the company rapidly expanded. After exploring his entrepreneurial side in the e-commerce space, where he successfully managed client and internal multi-million-dollar campaigns, he returned to recruiting. In Alex’s most recent role at Vangst, he placed top-tier candidates in a variety of roles specific to the cannabis industry as well as more traditional positions.
Alex is an active golfer, a car enthusiast, and an avid college football fan. He recently participated in the Crown Rally going from Denver to Las Vegas, and in the fall, he’ll be cheering on Ohio State.
Tyler has a decade of go-to-market recruiting experience for venture-backed technology companies. As the 3rd recruiting hire for Candidate Labs, Tyler has executed client searches at every level.
Prior to Candidate Labs, Tyler began his recruiting career at Betts Recruiting where he learned the ins & outs of the early-stage recruiting lifecycle and the complicated world of SaaS startups and high-growth companies. Among many achievements, Tyler was responsible for building out the Customer Success vertical in 2014, helping companies hire and understand the new segment that was growing more strategically important.
After a successful tenure as an individual contributor, Tyler grew to become a manager, overseeing Betts’ East Coast territory, running a team of 20+ and overseeing the growth in that market.
Outside of work, Tyler is a sports nut and pizza enthusiast and loves anything related to San Francisco sports.
Madison has completed over 50 sales and marketing searches for VC-backed startups in the past 3 years, including Account Executives, VPs of Sales, and Heads of Marketing. As a Client Director at Candidate Labs, she partners closely with Managers and C-level executives in scaling their go-to-market teams.
Madison started her career on Capitol Hill as a Staff Assistant and Legislative Correspondent before being (accidentally) introduced to the world of staffing by way of Beacon Hill Staffing Group. During her 2 years at Beacon Hill, she successfully placed over 500 administrative-focused individuals, bringing in $1.3M+ in temporary and permanent placements.
Most recently, Madison came to Candidate Labs from Betts Recruiting, where she was hired as the first leadership-focused recruiter in their Austin office. Here, she received the Client Excellence Award for consistently delivering top-notch candidates, and was recognized as the first recruiter to hit quota in 2020, achieving over 100% of her $425k quota.
Outside of work, Madison enjoys hiking, fishing, playing with her dog, Humphrey, and traveling. Before moving to Austin, Madison went on a solo trip to Bali, Australia, and New Zealand.

Aaron Mullenix has been a driving force for high powered companies in their hyper-growth stages such as Riot Games, Bird, and Procore, where he was able to hire hundreds of individuals at almost all seniority levels across nearly two dozen disciplines.
Aaron started his career in recruiting in 2013 with Riot Games and helped grow the company from 800 to 2,500 over 5 years. He then moved on to Bird during their inception, where he hired nearly 50 people in 7 months, making a strong global impact for the company. Most recently, Aaron is joining Candidate Labs from Procore, where he hired close to 100 people in 2 years across many disciplines, drastically expanding their Legal, IT, and Business Intelligence teams.
Aaron is a native Texan, former Californian, and currently residing in South Carolina with his entire family (all 23 of them!). He spends most of his time with aforementioned entire family and loves hiking, exploring new restaurants, playing video/board games, and quality time with his wife and two lovely daughters. Katie has completed more than 100 GTM searches for early stage and venture-backed companies throughout her recruiting career. She joined Candidate Labs in September ‘20 as the first Client Manager and first Texas hire. Since joining, Katie has become a top biller and a major driver in building out the Customer Success segment at Candidate Labs.
Katie began her professional search career at Betts Recruiting where she held 4 different roles in 2.5 years as a top performer. At Betts, Katie successfully placed 91 candidates in sales positions for early stage companies and startups including Snowflake, Sprinklr, Dremio, Rubrik, PwC (InsightsOfficer) and more. At Betts, she was responsible for a territory covering half the country in secondary markets including Austin, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Atlanta, and Raleigh-Durham. Katie was also instrumental in building the team culture, helping double the Austin office in size and serving as a mentor and coach for her peers all while being responsible for her own individual quota.

Prior to joining Candidate Labs, he was a Senior Associate at True Search where he focused on originating and executing executive-level sales and marketing mandates for portfolio companies.
Previously, Alex was the Assistant Director of Business Development at GRT Capital Partners, an investment manager in Boston. During his tenure, Alex was responsible for client management, introducing investment opportunities and working closely with portfolio company management teams to develop and execute strategic plans including talent acquisition strategies.
He also served as an Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for the private equity group, August Enterprises. While at August, Alex led the corporate development group, providing planning, advisory, execution and integration management solutions for August on M&A, strategic investments, and joint ventures.
Outside of Candidate Labs, Alex spends his time in Connecticut and Vermont with his Australian Shepherd Mackenzie. He is a Special Olympics coach and enjoys playing golf and skiing.
Olivia (Liv) has built a career scaling revenue generating teams of VC-backed, early-stage technology companies. A top-performer with record-breaking time to fill and closed-won rates, Liv is a self-titled go-to-market Talent Strategist who takes an extremely personalized and relationship-driven approach to search.
In 2017, Liv moved to Austin and joined Betts Recruiting as a Recruiting Coordinator. Determined to learn the industry, she dove in head first and was promoted into a closing role within her first 3 months. As an IC, Liv was consistently in the top 10% of billers company-wide, earning the Client Excellence Award, Rookie of the Year, and breaking the company record with time to fill and closed-won rates. After 2 years and 5 promotions, Liv moved into a Director role, overseeing the Austin recruiting team (7 dual desk recruiters across all segments).
Liv graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University in New Orleans, and began to sharpen her sales skills in retail. Cody started his executive search career at Korn Ferry within their Technology & Professional Services practice. After discovering his passion for recruiting, he joined a boutique search firm, ON Partners, to work more closely with clients across the technology sector.
Prior to joining Candidate Labs, Cody led a regional recruiting team at Slalom where he focused on hiring for key consulting leaders across Texas and Colorado. He helped to bring best-in-class search methodology to his region to improve how they engaged with executive hires.
Cody grew up outside of Austin, Texas and attended Baylor University where he studied Human Resource Management. Today, Cody lives in Dallas with his wife, Marissa and two children, Reese and Grayson. In his free time you can find Cody attending as many Baylor sporting events as possible, spending lots of time with his family and friends, and enjoying a round of golf or tennis.
Alyssa is an accomplished go-to-market recruiter who has spent the last three years partnering with early-stage and venture-backed technology companies on both leadership and individual contributor roles. She has completed important “first of” searches including VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, and VP of People at a variety of startups. As a Client Director at Candidate Labs, Alyssa partners closely with companies funded by top-tier investors to build out their GTM teams.
Alyssa gained her initial recruiting experience at a commercial construction recruiting firm in Seattle where she quickly learned the principles of search. She was at the top of her training class, excelling to surpass professional and personal goals as well as company benchmarks. Alyssa is the second Seattle hire to join Candidate Labs. Born and raised in the Puget Sound area, you can usually find her in the mountains skiing (a true aprés-ski enthusiast). She enjoys the city life, waterfront walks with her Frenchie named Stevie, and attending Seahawks games. (Go Hawks!)
Christian is a seasoned search professional with extensive experience in tech. Prior to starting his role at Candidate Labs, Christian was an Associate on the Executive Search team at Riviera Partners, where he recruited exceptional engineering and product management talent.
Sarah joined Candidate Labs as the first Talent Director on the team, focused on ensuring a stellar candidate experience and building powerful candidate pipelines for our client-facing team.
Sarah previously worked at an agency focused on placing top GTM talent at early-stage startups where she learned recruiting fundamentals and foundational skills to set her up for success. After one year, she was promoted and began recruiting on her own searches. Sarah went on to explore in-house recruiting at Sisu Data as their first GTM recruiter. Outside of work, Sarah is passionate about fitness, cooking and travel. After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Sarah went on a solo trip travelling to 9 countries across Europe, Southeast Asia and the land down under. She got her working holiday visa in New Zealand and lived, worked, and travelled all over the country for a year. She has big dreams of living there again.

Shashwath grew up in Andrews, TX, graduated from the University of Texas, and is currently based in Austin. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two puppies, hanging out with friends, going to dance classes, playing tennis, and traveling.
Julia Sipos has three years of search experience, having recruited C-suite and key opinion leaders in a variety of industries including technology, healthcare, aerospace and defense, and telecommunications. At Candidate Labs, Julia is a Talent Director responsible for partnering with the client team to identify top talent to fill GTM roles at venture-backed companies.
Julia started her career at Guidepoint Global, where she ranked within the top 10 recruiters company-wide and was quickly promoted to a Research Manager, then Project Manager. She handled up to 70 projects at once from start to finish and connected consulting clients with top-notch candidates for their strategy and diligence cases. She exceeded her monthly quota since being promoted, becoming one of the top performers at the company and especially adept at finding qualified industry experts for her client’s research needs.
Julia grew up in Westchester, New York, and now resides in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She was an avid synchronized skater and now teaches the basics of ice skating at local NYC rinks. She enjoys reading a good thriller novel, experimenting with new workout classes (the latest is hot yoga), and spending time with family and friends. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Brody is a search professional with experience in the insurance, finance, and consulting spaces. Prior to joining Candidate Labs, Brody was a Senior Business Development Specialist at Gartner, where he supported Public Sector CFOs and CHROs with valuable insights, advice, and tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations.
David has 3 years of search experience working with some of the most sophisticated investment firms on Wall Street, assisting with their due diligence on new, multi-million dollar investment ideas. This involved sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and presenting high-level industry experts and C-level executives to consult on various topics across a variety of industry verticals, including TMT, Mining, Automotive, Healthcare, Consumer Goods, Financial Services, E&I , etc.

Hannah Miller-Jones is an Austinite and an industry-changer with an eclectic professional background. When Hannah transitioned into recruiting, she dove in head-first, quickly establishing a track record of early success in GTM recruiting for Sales and Marketing roles at Betts before joining Candidate Labs.
Hannah has partnered with high-growth clients including PwC, Flywheel Software, Appfolio, and Canonical. She thrives on relationship-building, strives for excellence, and is always up for a challenge.
Hannah grew up in Austin, Texas, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Edward’s University, where she got her BA in Psychology. Prior to recruiting, Hannah worked in the service industry and was an international dance instructor and community organizer (Brazilian Zouk). Hannah is a movement fanatic—you can find her working out, hiking, dancing, doing yoga, or taking her dog (Zula) to the park in her free time.
Cyssi started her career at Bespoke Partners as a Research Analyst, working with leading private equity firms like Thoma Bravo, Francisco Partners, Clearlake Capital, and Insight Partners to place software talent in a variety of functions including Human Resources, Finance, and Sales. In her role, she was responsible for developing and executing research strategy for search engagements and working with partners to retrieve relevant data and uncover target candidates.
Cyssi grew up in Washington and has lived all along the West Coast from Seattle to San Diego. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. The culmination of her studies led to a final thesis exploring how to create a more effective online platform with a focus on cross-cultural communication techniques utilized by brands in the global fashion industry. Cyssi can be found splitting her time between fashion, photography, long walks, and baking anything that requires flour, yeast, and sugar.
Trevor is a search professional with sales tenure at both startups and large tech companies. Prior to joining Candidate Labs, Trevor was on the sales team at venture-backed Instawork, with previous experience as a Business Development Consultant at Oracle.
Kayla is a search professional with experience placing top product and engineering executives for VC-backed and early stage technology companies. Prior to Candidate Labs, Kayla was an Analyst at Parker Remick executing searches for public tech companies and startups backed by Sequoia, Andreesen Horowitz, and Iconiq Capital.
Kayla grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from MIT with a BS in Anthropology. Prior to recruiting, she worked in global and public health research for academic and nonprofit organizations, focusing on racial health inequity and social determinants of health. As the daughter of a former game developer, Kayla loves playing video games; her favorite console is the Nintendo Switch. She is also an avid cook and baker—she loves baking breads, like sourdough and english muffins.
